The March 28 No Kings Protests: The Largest to Date

march 12th, 2026  -  BCCR PRESS RELEASE
PRESS RELEASE

For Immediate Release
Bridgewater Communities for Civil Rights to Host “No Kings” Protest on March 28

Bridgewater, MA — March 12, 2026 — Bridgewater Communities for Civil Rights (BCCR) will host a public standout on Saturday, March 28, 2026, from 10:00–12:00 PM at Central Square in Bridgewater, joining communities across the country in a coordinated day of action known as “No Kings.”

The event is part of a nationwide movement rejecting authoritarian leadership and reaffirming the democratic principle that political power belongs to the people.
Participants will gather on the Bridgewater Common with signs and banners expressing support for democracy, civil rights, and the rule of law.

“The United States was founded on the idea that no one person should hold unchecked power,” said a BCCR representative. “The message of ‘No Kings’ is simple: we believe in democracy, accountability, and a government that serves the people — not the other way around.”

BCCR expects community members to attend to show solidarity with others across the country who are speaking out against threats to democratic institutions, civil rights, and the rule of law.
The organization emphasizes that the event will follow BCCR’s Statement of Nonviolence, which requires participants to engage respectfully and peacefully with the public.

“Our goal is to create a visible, peaceful presence that reminds people that democracy depends on ordinary citizens showing up and speaking out.”

Members of the public are encouraged to attend, bring signs, and stand in support of democratic values.
