Meet The Chiefs: A Discussion With Our Law Enforcement Leaders

Picture
Bridgewater Communities for Civil Rights (BCCR) and Diversity and Inclusion for Community Empowerment (DICE) invited the public to join us for a panel discussion with our Chiefs of Police from Bridgewater, Raynham, and Bridgewater State University (BSU).

This was a virtual panel discussion, open to all members of the Bridgewater-Raynham community and included important topics such as budgeting, training, equipment such as body cameras, hiring, and current police issues facing our community.

Conviction of Derek Chauvin

Murder Trial of George Floyd

Picture
Cat Stewart, BCCR Chair, on the conviction of Derek Chauvin

Today we witnessed accountability for a crime we all saw with our own eyes. This moment is a piece of a larger history that did not always include this accountability. Justice was served today for George Floyd’s family and for this we celebrate their relief and ability to find peace.

True justice will be served when BIPOC communities are able to live without fear of violence and discrimination. True justice will be served when all are seen for their humanity. Until this justice is served, we will continue working and educating ourselves and the Bridgewater community.
