History of Bridgewater's
juneteenth celebration

In 2021, The Bridgewater Communities for Civil Rights (BCCR), and the First Parish Unitarian Universalist Church, were the change agents who made a plan to bring Juneteenth to the Town of Bridgewater. With funding provided by the Massachusetts Cultural Council and other local supporters, the BCCR Bridgewater Juneteenth Planning Committee has worked tirelessly for the past five years to educate the larger community about the importance of Juneteenth.
